Academic Advising Guide

The Academic Advising Guide, part of the New Student Guide to Carolina, contains information intended to assist students in building their fall semester schedule. Students will receive a printed version upon arrival at New Student Orientation.

First Year Student and Transfer Students

Note: The Academic Advising Guide will be available online for all new first year and transfer students in May.

• New transfer students may begin registering for fall semester once they have accepted their admittance and paid the deposit.
• New first-year students will register for fall semester after attending New Student Orientation in the summer.  During New Student Orientation, Academic Advising will assist first-year students with understanding course placements and credits and choosing appropriate courses for fall semester.  Regardless of the date they attend Orientation and register, an equitable number of seats in appropriate courses will be available to students.

All students, including new first-year and transfer students, register online through ConnectCarolina.
