Replacing a Lost or Damaged Diploma

The Records team submits replacement diploma orders at the end of each month, from which time it takes 3 to 4 weeks to return from the vendor.
Your diploma will be printed with the full legal name as listed on your student account.
Important: Please email the Records Team with any name questions.
To order a replacement diploma you must print, complete, and sign the Order Form and either:
- Bring it in to our office on the 3rd floor of the SASB building.
- Fax it to 919-962-3349

- The charge for a replacement diploma is $25. Payment can be made by money order, credit card (Visa/MasterCard only), or check made payable to the UNC-Chapel Hill. If paying by credit card, include the card’s number and expiration date.
- Diplomas are shipped via US postal service, which does not include tracking.
- Federal Express delivery is available for an extra charge ($15/domestic, $30/international).
We strongly encourage students requesting delivery to an overseas address to consider this option, which has the advantage of both expedited delivery and tracking information.
Important: A financial hold on a student’s record will prevent processing a diploma order for that student.
