The University is focused on creating an environment where our entire academic community can best perform and publishes the Chancellor’s Academic Calendar to support this effort. We also recognize conflicts with academic calendars, syllabi dates, etc. may arise. Students can make advance requests for class absences, re- scheduling of examinations or other adjusted class deadlines in accordance with university approved absence guidelines in the catalog (https://catalog.unc.edu/).

Please view the 2025 Interfaith Calendar to assist in identifying religious holidays and observances. Faculty and campus are asked to consider these requests and make reasonable accommodations for the student. Of special consideration for our Jewish community, during the Fall 2025 semester the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur fall within the mid-term period of the semester. Please be considerate of this, especially if you receive a request for an alternate schedule to allow for these observances. The University is focused on creating an environment where our entire academic community can perform at its best.
