Greetings First-Year Students, If you have already attended orientation and registered for classes, you will once again be able to access your enrollment on August 7th starting at 11 am through ConnectCarolina. You may use ConnectCarolina to alter your schedule through August 25th, which is the last day for all students to add a course or late register using the web registration system. In addition to accessing your registration, on August 8th you will be able to register for up to 18 hours of credit. For a list of other important dates, please check our Fall 2014 University Registrar’s Calendar.

For helpful tips while registering, please check out our Registration Guide, including our video series which covers a wide variety of registration related topics and issues.

Utilize the SWAP feature

Swap allows you to attempt enrollment into a new class without losing your enrolled seat in the class you want to drop. If you are able to successfully swap into the new class, you will be dropped from the enrolled class. If you are not able to enroll in the “swap to” class, you do not lose your seat in the “swap from” class.

2

Important: Do not use SWAP to change a recitation on a class! To change a recitation, you want to use Enroll > Edit.

1

Important: To drop classes without swapping, navigate to the Enroll > drop tabs. You can drop one class or multiple classes at the same time.

Search by General Education Requirements

One way to search for additional classes is to utilize the General Education Search feature.

4

From your enrollment shopping cart, when you click on the class search, try using the “Search By Class Attribute (General Education, Honors, etc.) search criteria.

Click the magnifying glass to the right of the search box, and it will bring up a list of Course Attribute Values.

5

From this list, you can choose a General Education requirement that you’d like to fulfill, like “Historical Analysis” for example.

Then you can choose additional search criteria to shop open classes only and maybe search for Course Numbers “less than or equal to” 200.

This will give you a listing of all of the open classes that are 200 level or lower that will fulfill that specific General Education Requirement, so you know it will count towards your requirements for your degree!

Check out our Searching for Classes and Adding Classes to Your ConnectCarolina Shopping Cart video for additional details!
