The Office of the University Registrar conducts training on a variety of topics for the faculty and staff at UNC-Chapel Hill. Our team of trainers are all subject matter experts in the various topics and all have experience using ConnectCarolina as users.

This session provides an overview of the approval process and electronic workflow.

This includes how to submit requests to add, revise, or inactivate courses in the ConnectCarolina course catalog using the new Course Request Approval System.

This training session teaches you how to use Block Enrollment to add or drop a group of students into one or more classes as well as show you how to resolve enrollment errors when using Block Enrollment.

Description:

Has it been a while since you’ve worked with student registration and enrollment? Or do you work with it regularly but still have questions or need clarification?

The University Registrar’s Office now offers Registration Refresher classes for staff who have already had the Student Records: Registration and Enrollment training (http://registrar.unc.edu/training/classes/#srREG), but need a refresher. We’ll cover all of the basic areas of that class in a condensed 45-minute time frame, and point you to resources that will be helpful as you resume (or belatedly begin) your registration and enrollment work.

Description:

The Program/Plan training is designed for staff that will need to process program/plan updates in their current position, such as Student Services Managers in Professional Schools or Staff who work in an Academic Dean’s Office.

Topics:

In this training class, we will cover the following:

  • Understanding program/plan stack
  • Making Program changes
  • Making Plan changes (majors, 2nd majors, minors, concentrations, other plans)
  • Working with Requirement terms
  • Using Effective dating on program/plan rows

Note:  This training is specific to staff that process updates to the program/plan stacks.  Approval will be needed before attendance.

These sessions are open to staff members who need help registering students, updating program/plans or have questions related to registration. Registration Staff will be present to answer questions you have.

Description:

In this class you will learn about the various Tar Heel Tracker reports, how to access them in ConnectCarolina, and how to interpret the report. Some of the topics we will cover include using the What-If report, identifying and understanding adjustments and exceptions in a student’s report, as well as reviewing resources for the Tar Heel Tracker on campus.

In this class you will learn how to access, fill out, and submit an adjustment to a student’s Tar Heel Tracker report. You will also learn how to look up previously submitted adjustments for any given student as well as how to view, interpret, and utilize the tracker report. Currently this training is for Deans, Directors of Undergraduate Study (DUS), DUS designates, and Academic Advisors only.
